Wool coat: This coat is very dense and similar in texture to lambs wool. It can be kept long but requires more grooming in this style. Kept short this coat is very easy to maintain, has no odor and no shedding. This coat is the most Bichon  like and is best for those with severe allergies or asthma. These are the coats that have the most curl to them and are found in the 1st generation mix for the Bichon.



Soft coat: This is the coat that most people associate with Shichon. The texture is more silky and wavy instead of curly .  It can range from being almost straight with just a few waves in it  to coat that almost has the look of a loose body wave perm on humans.

 

 Regardless of the  coat you prefer  must be groomed in order to remain mat free.

Shichons should have their coats groomed every 4 weeks by a groomer to remain matt free

We also want to note that  our Shorkie puppies are also non shedding and hypoallergenic. Just is a SMALLER PACKAGE!!!
